The hike starts at the Gasthaus Koflerhof, Kofel. A wide trail initially leads uphill, which soon turns into a narrow path through woodland. As an alternative route you can follow the forest road, but the ascent is 3.5 km longer in this case.
On reaching the tree line, the trail continues uphill along winding paths and across open meadows. Soon enough, you’ll spot the tall summit cross in the distance. Those in the mood for more can take a detour to the “Platte”, a smaller summit cross at 2,175 m. The return route follows the same path as the ascent.
