Astjoch, St. Lorenzen
The hike starts at the rectangular car park and initially leads through the woods, passing the Wald Alm. Shortly after, you reach a wide hiking path and can see the “Ellener Kreuz”, although this isn’t your actual destination. You bear right and pass another Alm. The final section of the hike leads across green meadows to the summit cross of the Astjoch. The rather inconspicuous summit offers a beautiful view of Bruneck, the Kronplatz, the Badia Valley and the surrounding mountain landscape. The descent follows the same route but can also be extended to the Kreuzwiesen Alm (+280 meters elevation gain and 3.8 km).
