From the car park above Gasthaus Mudlerhof, follow the forest road with trail marker no. 31 heading northwest. At the crossroads after the first bend, continue straight ahead before taking a steep, somewhat bumpy path on the left to reach the forest road, which wends its way uphill. Cross the forest road and follow the red and white trail marker. The path leads through the woods to the tree line. Pretty soon, you glimpse the summit cross of the Lutterkopf. The tour continues over open alpine pastures. Following the ridge, after quite a long hike you reach a junction with signposts; follow the trail leading directly down to the Taistner Vorderalm. If you wish, you can continue hiking and tackle the ascent to the Durakopf. From the summit, the trail then descends eastwards to Klenkboden. Those with the will to continue can follow trail marker 54A to the left over grassy terrain and a rocky slope, and up into the ridge depression between Rudlhorn and Eisatz, before finally bearing right over the short ridge to the summit cross. The safest way to descend is to go back the way you came or – for experienced hikers – via the western ridge to the Taistner Vorderalm.
