The turquoise-blue Neves reservoir in Lappach is the starting point for this hike. Start by walking around the lake until you reach the Neves Alm. From there, continue along the path through the woodland and then lush greenery, passing babbling streams, until you reach the Edelweiß hut. At the hut, take a left, and the path wends its way uphill over large rocks and stones. To tackle this section, you shouldn’t be afraid of heights and you need to be sure-footed. The trail is marked on the rocks, but caution is advised. The last section runs almost flat along the slope, and a breathtaking panoramic view opens up. Be sure to keep your eyes on the path, though. Pretty soon, you reach the summer cross. To the north, the face of the 3,000-meter peak of the Weißzint rises, in the valley you can see Lake Eisbruggsee, and to the south, the peaks of the Dolomites tower into the sky. The descent follows the same route back.
Starting point: Neves Stausee, Lappach (25 km from the hotel)
