Lake Braies

Like an emerald, South Tyrol’s most famous lake nestles between steep rock faces and dark fir trees. Lake Braies is a place at which to marvel, take photos and breathe deeply – whatever the season. Its calm waters and rowing boats and the panoramic path around the lake make it a true highlight for fans of nature and romance.

Lake Antholz

Crystal-clear, tranquil, and framed by towering peaks – Lake Antholz is situated deep within the Rieserferner-Ahrn Nature Park and is one of the most pristine mountain lakes in the region. The flat, circular trail around the water is especially popular. Surrounded by larch woodland, it is a unique experience in nature in every season, offering intense tranquility and sweeping views.

Percha Earth Pyramids

The Earth Pyramids in Percha rise into the sky as if from another world. These fascinating clay formations with their stone “caps” are the result of centuries of erosion – and a spectacular natural phenomenon. A short hiking trail leads directly to the pyramids, where visitors are treated to a tranquil, almost mystical sight, especially in the more gloomy light of the morning or evening.

Concordia 2000

At the very top of the 2,275 meter-high summit of Kronplatz, Concordia 2000, one of the most impressive vantage points in the Dolomites, awaits you. The monumental Peace Bell symbolizes harmony between people and open-mindedness – and is framed by a 360-degree panorama which combines the mountains and the sky. A bronze relief around the bell displays the names and heights of the surrounding peaks.

LUMEN museum

Kronplatz cable car mountain station is now home to the LUMEN museum – a modern museum which is dedicated entirely to mountain photography. The magic of the mountains comes to life in impressive images, films, and installations over several floors. Architecture and views merge into a holistic experience which fascinates, inspires, and lingers in the memory.

MMM Corones

High above Kronplatz, architecture blends with emotion: the Messner Mountain Museum Corones is Reinhold Messner’s homage to Alpine mountaineering. Zaha Hadid’s powerful architecture is spectacularly built into the rock. Inside, the exhibitions tell stories of courage, risk, and freedom in the mountains – an immersive experience for mountain lovers and the curious.

The “Eight Churches” vantage point

This vantage point above Olang offers a sweeping view over the Puster Valley – and of eight small churches and chapels scattered like pearls throughout the landscape: Geiselsberg, Niederolang, Mitterolang, Oberolang, Wielenberg, Nasen, Toning Stöckl and Niederrasen. Each tells its own story. The path there is short and rewarding – and ideal for a peaceful walk with a profound impact and expansive views.

Lake Toblach

Nestling between the peaks of the Dolomites lies Lake Toblach. Its calm waters reflect the surrounding forests and mountains, and depending on the light and the season, its color changes from a soft turquoise to a deep green. A circular shoreside path invites visitors to take leisurely strolls, while nature lovers can learn more about the flora, fauna, and geology on the information panels. In the summer it is possible to rent pedal boats and rowing boats, while in the winter the landscape transforms into a tranquil, shimmering fairytale world.
