The small village of Weißenbach in Ahrntal is the starting point of this hike. Parking is available at the Brunegger farm, from where you can follow the forest road towards Schönberg and the eponymous hut. The turns of the forest road can always be shortened by cutting through the forest. Upon reaching the hut, the sunny terrace invites you to linger. For those who want to hike further, the summit of Schönberg can be reached in just 1.5 hours. The breathtaking view from the top is definitely worth the extra effort
