The hike begins at the Koflerhof hut at the Kofel. Initially, a wide trail leads uphill, which soon becomes a narrow path through the forest. Alternatively, you can follow the forest road, but the ascent will be 3.5 km longer in this case.

Once the tree line is reached, the trail continues uphill in switchbacks across open meadows. Soon, you can spot the tall summit cross in the distance. Those who wish can take a detour to the "Platte," a smaller summit cross at 2,175 m. The return route follows the same path as the ascent
