After the very successful premiere in the World Cup 2016/2017, the international ski association decided to award a World Cup race to Kronplatz again, which will be held on 23 January. The highly demanding giant slalom on the ERTA slope (one of the “Black Five” on the Kronplatz) in S. Vigilio di Marebbe can be seen as a direction for the Olympic competitions. The start of the giant slalom is situated 1.605 m above sea level and the max. tilt is about 61 %. In the evening, there is also an entertainment program.

Also in the Antholz valley is competition atmosphere from 17th to 21th January. The Biathlon World Cup races in Antholz have been among the must see events in South Tyrol for over 30 years.
